At all age levels we are steadily growing hearts of discipleship at Springvale. Relational Discipleship and Theological Discipleship are two tracks that exist to get us there. Both are anchored in the purpose of becoming stronger followers of Jesus. Mentorship is Relational Discipleship at its best. It is a process of sharing wisdom and resources to empower others in their journey with Jesus. While being careful to maintain healthy boundaries in this intentional relationship, the One to One Partner (or mentor) is typically a stage or two ahead of the mentee, and provides support, prayer, and fellowship that leads to spiritual formation in the life of that person who is intentionally seeking growth. Mentorship provides something more intimate and intentional that does not come from a group experience. Mentorship is us being available and coming alongside someone in their faith walk, as we are commanded. Paul and Timothy. Ruth and Naomi. Moses and Joshua. Jesus and his Twelve.
Benefit from Having a Mentor
The One to One Track is how we help people to enter in, find a match and start the walk together, as we equip with resources and support. A One to One Partner, will help you grow in Jesus and become a deeper disciple by coming alongside you. If you could benefit from the wisdom, guidance, prayer and partnership, of someone more mature in their faith who is willing to sharing how they’ve grown in Jesus One to One is for you!
We invite YOU to grow or continue your Relational Discipleship mindset at Springvale. We are always collecting a list of Springvale men and women who are willing to come alongside, to be on our roster of One to One Partners. If interested, once you fill in the form we’ll gather some of your basic life and contact info so we can call you for an informal fit interview.
If you say yes to being on our list of One to One Partners, you may be called in the future to informally come alongside (for a finite period of time) someone interested in growing up in Christ. You may also be invited to a future Equipping Session for One to One Partners to explain expectations, guidelines, timing, and give some tools and resources, if you need them.
