Covid-19 Update

Hello!

We are very thankful for the opportunity to offer an in-person Sunday service at Springvale.

When we regather, things will feel and look different, maybe even a little uncomfortable at times after all we are a family and like to act as a family.  Well Springvale Family, for a season, we need to make some adjustments to how Sundays look.  We are doing this to honour our government and health officials and to provide a safe environment where people can come to worship.  Not everyone is going to come back right away or want to make that first in-person visit to check us out…that is OK!  But this is a first step to getting back to our Sunday gatherings.

Regardless if you will be joining us in-person or online, if you are feeling the loneliness of being distant from others, we would encourage you to consider joining a Life Group.  Our Life Group ministry is central to the ongoing care, spiritual growth, and community during this challenging time.  Life Groups are a smaller number of people who meet weekly to get into God’s Word, care for one another, develop meaningful friendships, and together grow deeper in their relationships with Jesus.  For more information on Life Groups please contact Carla by email: carla@springvale.org.

More Information

The following is some of the information you will need to know if you are considering joining us in-person.

General Expectations of Attendees

  • Be considerate and extend grace with others who may have a different perspective on COVID-19.  Some may be more comfortable with people than others.  It is important that we lovingly walk with each other on this journey.  For example, some may choose to wear a mask, others may not.  Be careful of judgement with one another.
  • Avoid shaking hands and adhere to all recommended physical distancing expectations.
  • When coughing or sneezing use a tissue to cover your nose and mouth and dispose of the tissue immediately.  Do not cough/sneeze into your hands directly.
  • If you meet the definition of a vulnerable individual please use your discretion when deciding on attending in-person services.
  • Masks are required for all volunteers and working staff members.

Self-Assessment Questions

Please be sure you can answer “NO” to each of these questions. If not, please stay home and enjoy the service online;

  • Do you have any of the following new or worsening symptoms; fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, new taste or smell disorder, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or runny nose or nasal congestion (in absence of other reasons like seasonal allergies)?
  • Have you returned from travel outside Canada in the last 14 days?
  • Have you had contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19?
  • Have you had contact with anyone who has been told to self-quarantine themselves?
  • Are you awaiting a COVID-19 test result?

  • Seating will be every other row and non-household members will be three chairs apart from one another.
  • Until guidelines are modified, we ask that the congregation refrains from singing out loud but to worship in their hearts and minds.
  • Our service will continue to be approximately 1 hour long.
  • At the end of the service, please remain seated until your row is instructed to be release by rows and directed to go outside immediately
  • Washrooms will be available but we ask that you refrain from using them unless absolutely necessary and respect physical distancing if you do use them.
  • We will continue to employ online giving methods or offerings can be dropped off in the boxes located by the exit doors.

We will be having a team filming on some Sundays during the arrival and dismissal times.  This footage will be used during the upcoming Sundays pre-service time so our congregation can see more of each other.  If you do not want to participate in any questions, please just let the team know and smile and wave when the camera swings by!
